National Fertility Awareness Week

This week is NFAW and there have been many interviews, media reports, programs and this weekend is the Fertility Show where you can listen to speakers, meet clinics and hopefully gain some perspective, support and information about available fertility treatments. I have been struck by some of the Male interviews and reports given I gave a talk on this subject last year but always feel sad and somewhat frustrated when I hear people say they didn't receive any support or didn't know how to access it. All clinics should have an in-house counsellor or access to counselling. BICA are the UK's specialist network of fertility counsellors and can be contacted. A Google search for 'fertility counsellor' in your area may bring up some results and being in touch with your GP or any of the counselling Networks (NCS, BACP amongst others). There are also some Facebook groups and Fertility Network UK can be helpful and has a support line. There is a lot of support available and it's just about knowing where and how to tap into it. Be in touch if I can help.
