Healthy reminders...

I do like this time of year in the UK.

Longer days, warmer temperatures, new life emerging.

I recently had three reminders that sparked joy that I’d like to share.

The first was a recent trip to an Art gallery. The energy ‘of and within’ the gallery was lovely. It was helpful that it was quiet, as I also went a few days later to a different / popular museum that was heaving with people and though still a good experience, the art gallery felt profoundly different. Such calm and an oasis of tranquillity.  It has been proven that looking at art can spark creativity, slow things down and take you away [momentarily] from the real world. What’s not to like?

The second reminder, which actually included the first one was ‘taking a break (from work)’. Every time I take some time off work, I appreciate the effects this has on me. Be it catching up with certain life tasks, friends or relationships or as noted above taking myself to a gallery, exhibition or somewhere new. I’m always reminded of the health benefits that a break delivers.

The third thing that has become more apparent to me every day this week are the amazing colours all around. Walking in a park and seeing plants and flowers coming alive and just the other day simply walking and driving around my neighbourhood, seeing so many blossoms of different colours and the sunlight coming down on them. Quite magical, calming and for me, ‘smile inducing’.

It may be the same for you that taking a break, visiting a museum, exhibition or gallery and witnessing natures own blooms bring a reminder into your life to stop, witness and appreciate.

In addition, what else would you add to the list?

Happy spring to you.
