Have you ever stopped to think how much you dwell on things or let things get to you or under your skin?
Are you aware of a pattern with the types of ‘worries’ that impact you?
Do you discern between worries. i.e things that really are stressful and things that have either been made bigger than they are and in reality the importance is not so great?
What are your strategies for managing an overloaded or overwhelmed mind?
How often to you have to employ these strategies?
How well are they working for you?
What secondary impact do these worries have on you? Often, we might find ourselves suffering with a headache, tummy ache, lack of energy, over indulge in things, procrastinate etc
A few thoughts for you to try out or consider.
1/ Next time you feel overwhelmed, note down the various elements going round in your head.
2/ Rank them out of 10 with regards to the impact they are having on you at that time.
3/ Be curious and reflect on the one/s most impacting you and ask what is it about the outcome of this that is weighing on you. Outcomes can be significant and difference such as the loss of someone or something or perhaps could link to feeling some shame or guilt or any other emotion.
You can now find a way to manage the emotion rather than trying to control the event.
Be curious, reflect and let things in. Quite often this will reduce the burden, the weight and the impact.
