A Reason, a Season or a Lifetime…

I was speaking to someone recently and sharing how in my experience we have people that come in and out of our lives at various times, for various reasons and they stay for what might be a moment, a while or quite some time.

The person I was sharing this with agreed that this was their feeling too and furthermore, gave me a quote that a friend of theirs had told them about this same thing.

I liked this quote and as it was shared with me, I wish to share it onwards too.

It is the subject line of this post: “People come into our lives for a Reason, a Season or a Lifetime”.

Who can you think off that ticks those three boxes for you AND in addition, who can you remember or think off that you have done so in a similar way for them?

For me personally, whilst I absolutely cherish the very long term relationships I always find it remarkable how impactful and lasting a very short term encounter can be and remember fondly single sessions of therapy I’ve had, conversations in passing in the supermarket, shops, or when travelling. Sometimes it might not even include a conversation as I remember as a child walking to school each day and passing an older person and just smiling to one another every morning.

Of course it could be a pet too. Anything else you can think off?

With the holiday season upon us, I am aware this can be either, neither or both the best or worst of times for many. Whatever it may be for you, I wish you good health as we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome in the challenges and opportunities of the Year ahead.

Please take care and look after yourself, look out for others and allow yourself to be looked after too.

You came into my life for a Reason and a Season. A short term encounter it was. Yet ( I quote your words) it was Impactful and lasting. Memories of 3 years ago that I think of fondly, despite the painful setting.
